Christmas Program
12.19.2007
This last weekend was our church Christmas program. I had a ball working with the choir, orchestra, drama and media teams. I was fighting an annoying cough/sore throat all weekend, but at least I didn't have to sing much. The groups all did a great job and the church really seemed to enjoy it. It was a blessing to be a part of, I pray that it was an encouragement to all those involved and all those who attended. Merry Christmas!

Sadie got to see her first snow last weekend. She had a lot of fun playing in it. She also helped me wrap Megan's Christmas presents. As you can see, she's quite the helper.

We were blessed this week to have Megan's parents come visit. We had a great time together and got to explore more of Washington as well. The first picture here is us on a ferry going across part of the Puget Sound to get to Whidbey Island. Then, the next is us at Deception Pass. We had a great time!

Well, today was a joyous day in the McCarty household! Thanks to Megan's mom's saavy internet skills and the wonderful resource of craigslist, we have a dog! She is an 8 week old shih tzu/yorkie mix. They call her a shorkie. She's adorable and we named her Sadie. We had to get her a cat collar because all the dog ones were too big! She's definitely going to add some fun around our place!

This weekend we had our first visitors from Missouri. Matt and Brandy flew into Seattle Thursday night. Friday morning we went to the Seattle Center where we saw the Space Needle and the Experience Music Project. Then, that evening we told Megan we were going to a Seattle Mariners game. But, to her surprise, the American Idol Tour was coming through Tacoma that night. We went down to the concert and had a great time. Saturday, we spent the day at Snoqualmie Falls, Sunday, Matt and Brandy joined us at our church for the morning. Then, we headed to Pike Place Market. We had a great weekend getting to see them again. They seemed to really do well around here (not to mention the MUCH cooler weather than Missouri.

Sorry for the delay in updating! Here's a run down of the last several weeks. Megan and I received all of our stuff in pretty good shape! We have moved into our new home, we've obtained a lawn mower, grill and even a few tools. For those of you who know me well, you know that I am definitely not a "handy man". But, you'll be impressed to know that I had to buy a hacksaw to make screens for our windows! It was quite the process, but we're good to go now and I even enjoyed it once I got the hang of it. I've even mowed the grass, killed some weeds, trimmed a hedge, and cooked a few meals on the grill! I think I'm going to enjoy having a house and getting out of apartments. Megan has been working hard getting the inside clean, straightening things up, and finding more jobs for me to do. Here are several pictures from the process. Things are looking good now and our first visitors are coming this weekend! More to come soon.

This weekend, I was officially licensed for ministry and today was my first day in the office. I have been looking forward to full-time ministry for several years and I'm excited to get started. Please join with me in prayer for the ministries of Edgewood Baptist. There are many people in this area that need to be awakened to God's immense love. I look forward to how God is going to work through our church and I'm excited to be a part of it.

Now that we found a place to live, we are having fun seeing the sights of the area. Today we spent the day in Seattle. We went to Pike Place Market, Seattle Center and Tim wanted to drive by the Mariner's stadium. After that, we walked around downtown Edmonds.
I have wanted to see a whale since we got here..and well...I finally found one right here in Edmonds. However, there is one slight problems...it doesn't swim. Oh well, this will do for now. Maybe someday I'll see a real whale.

Our New Home!
Tonight, we signed the lease for our new home! This house is definitely an answered prayer because it will more than meet our needs. There is a rec room for all our instruments, fenced backyard for Megan's soon-to-be-found-new dog, a big deck for church gatherings, and plenty of space for visitors. We will move in the last week of June and will send out our address at that time. Thanks for your prayers concerning us finding a place and getting settled in.
