We made it!

On May 10th we left Springfield, MO. Twenty days, seven states, 17 gas stops and 3855 miles later...WE ARE HERE in Washington! We praise God for great weather and safe travels. And I praise God that Megan could put up with me in the car for that long. She will have many extra stars on her crown in heaven! Here is a picture of Seattle from the car and a picture of us at our temporary home in Mukilteo, WA. We are staying with a very gracious family from our new church while we look for our new home. They have a great view of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. See, God never ceased to amaze...there IS sunshine in Seattle!

Here we are in Portland, OR. It was great catching up with Josh and Shelley and their kids Logan and Matea. We knew them through an earlier church ministry where we led the music and they led the youth. The picture of us is next to the Columbia River. We're on the Oregon side and Washington is right across the river. We're so close!

Hello, this weekend we spent time with our college friend, Berrik. He is a youth/music pastor in Cupertino. CA. We had a fun time seeing the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, and other sights of San Francisco. We also enjoyed worshiping at his church in Cupertino this morning. Tomorrow, Tim and I head out for Portland, OR.

We made it to Bakersfield, CA and decided to call it a night. All the way through Arizona and I never saw a big cactus. I was very disappointed. I guess they are more in the southern party of the state. But, we saw many palm trees, so I guess that will have to do. Here is a picture of some behind our hotel. We hope everyone is doing well.

Wow! That's all I have to say. We had a great day visiting the Grand Canyon and were blown away by its massive size. I wanted to sing "God of Wonders" all day long. It was amazing!

Today we drove over 500 miles from Friona, all the way through New Mexico, and half-way through Arizona. We had a nice peaceful drive enjoying the scenery and we look forward to the Grand Canyon tomorrow!

Well, we went to Friona and then posted pictures of the town, but no pictures of the town, but no pictures of Wes. After complaints from our most frequent blog viewers, I decided to go back and give you some pictures of our friend Wes. So, here you go! Here is Wes in his office, me and Wes by his church sign, and Wes giving us a tour of the area with a huge cowboy statue in the background!

Friona, TX
We left Fort Worth yesterday, drove 7 hours, and we're still in Texas. We are now staying in Friona (in between Amarillo and Lubbock) with my college roommate, Wes. He is a youth minister here and it's great to get to see him again. After we got in last night, there was a nice Texas thunderstorm.

Today Megan and I said goodbye to Springfield. We made it 1.1 miles before we had to stop at Sonic for a drink. Man, we're troopers. Megan is definitely going to miss her Sonic drinks up in Seattle. Anyhow, we made it to Fort Smith safely and we are happy to see her family again.

Today was our last Sunday in Republic. It has been great getting to know everyone there and being a part of what God is doing through that church. We really believe He has great plans for the church and we pray they can continue to seek God's will in all that they do. We're sure going to miss these guys.

Saturday was my last day working at Mardel. That store has such a great ministry and I enjoyed being a part of it!

By the time you find this website, most of you already know that I have accepted the Pastor of Worship Ministries position at Edgewood Baptist Church in Edmonds, WA. Megan and I are both very confident in God's calling and direction to this church and we look forward to what He has in store for us. Here is a picture of the church's staff from when we went to visit back in March. Their website is http://www.ebc-edmonds.org if you would like to read more about the church. Please be in prayer for us as we make this transition!
