New York City-Day 5

1.09.2010

Day 5:  We went home shortly after getting up this morning.  It was sad to leave the bustling city, but we had such a fun time and great 5th anniversary.

Day 4:  We got up and headed to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Wall Street, Ground Zero, the Manhattan Bridge, the Brooklyn Bridge, then headed up to the Empire State Building that night.  It's seriously an amazing and very busy city!

Day 3:  New Year's Eve...We spent some of this morning in Times Square, but it was crazy!  We got down there around 2:30pm to get a spot for the ball drop.  They put us in what looked like a pig pen and we stood there for hours.  It was a fun...and cold...experience, but I wouldn't change it.  We saw David Cook, Jennifer Lopez and several other bands setting up.

Day 2:  We went down to the Today Show early early in the morning.  It was fun to see how the show runs!
We also saw the huge Christmas tree, ice skating rink, went to Top of the Rock (my favorite place!)
We took a bus tour around Manhattan-seeing Central Park, ABC Studios, CNN, the Lincoln Center, the Natural History Museum.  It's amazing how much is in this city!

We also went to see "The Phantom of the Opera" that night.  It was so good.  So so good.  There were no pictures allowed.  I loved it.

New York City-Day 1

1.05.2010

For our 5th anniversary this year, Tim and I ventured eastward to NYC.  I've been wanting to see the ball drop in Times Square for as long as I can remember.  My friend, Katy, and I would watch it every New Years Eve growing up and it looked like so much fun.  We were in NYC for 5 days and packed each day as full as possible.

Day 1:
Flew out Tuesday morning and arrived at JFK at about 2:30pm.  Settled into our hotel and ate dinner in Times Square.

After dinner, we went on a "Holiday Lights Tour" of Manhattan.  It was a fun way to start the trip.
